Internet Software Finalist; Web development, Application Server Technology Delivers Ten-Fold Speed Gains

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 2001--Rivar Technologies' CODE: NEO software, which dramatically increases website speed and performance, today was named a finalist in the Best of Comdex Awards Internet Software category. CODE: NEO integrates HTML web development languages with C++, the language of operating systems, to deliver ten-fold speed gains in website processing, according to Gene Savar, Rivar chief executive officer and co-founder.

The Best of COMDEX Awards recognize the most innovative and influential products and technologies introduced at COMDEX Fall 2001, taking place November 12-16, 2001 in Las Vegas. A panel of award-winning editors from CIO, Computerworld, InfoWorld, Network World and PC World judge the nominees prior to and during the event. CODE: NEO's speed derives from its ability to bring the power of C++ to the web. Most websites handle the interaction between visitors and databases with languages such as JAVA, PERL or ASP. As web development languages, these lack the processing speed required by today's data-intensive, interactive websites, Savar said.

CODE: NEO allows web pages to be embedded with C++ and compiled into high-speed binary objects that are executed directly by servers in response to user requests. Benchmarks indicate that compiled binary objects can execute ten times faster than programs written in PERL, JAVA or ASP. Users access information faster and more users per web server are accommodated, reducing bottlenecks and the potential for site crashes.
